Nicolene van der Walt

Nicolene van der Walt is a South Africa-born, Berlin-based woodworker and designer. She combines her contemporary art and classical woodworking backgrounds to create functional sculptural design objects and free-standing furniture – her resulting work is equal parts playful and elegant.

For Cape Town Furniture Week 2024, Nicolene is exhibiting a special edition of her No.6 Table in PR0T0, an official CTFW exhibition for concepts, prototypes and collectible design pieces. The piece is crafted from Sapele Mahogany, produced by Nicolene while in Cape Town.
